The role of female leadership

08.03.2024

On this International Women's Day, we would like to pay tribute to women in the workplace. That is why today we are talking about women in leadership, reflecting on the progress that has been made so far and the challenges that leaders of companies and organisations still face on a daily basis.

In recent years, there has been a significant improvement in the increase of women's representation in leadership positions. However, there are still challenges to overcome, such as the gender gap in leadership positions, gender discrimination and so on. Addressing these issues and creating a fairer and more just working environment is essential.

The contribution of female leadership in business

Women in business bring diversity of thought, communication skills and empathy. They foster an inclusive culture and effective change management. Women in leadership positions are role models and are an inspiration for the development of female talent and the improvement of decision making. Through their influence, they are a significant contributor to the overall performance and competitiveness of the organisation in today's marketplace.

How to promote female leadership

Despite the progress made, women still face barriers to becoming and remaining leaders. These barriers and many more contribute to the gender gap in leadership, including gender discrimination, unconscious bias, difficulties in balancing personal and professional life, and lack of recognition.

In order to create an environment that fosters equal opportunities, it is crucial to implement policies and programmes that support the development of women in the company. From implementing mentorship programmes, to providing specific professional development opportunities for women, to ensuring pay equity, all of these measures will lead us to more diverse and inclusive organisations.

Celebrating progress

It's important to celebrate all the women leaders who are making a difference in the business world, transforming organisations and paving the way for a future where equal opportunities for advancement into leadership positions are still evident.

“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.”– Mary Kay Ash
